Before you walk in

Know the number
before we do.

This is the honest math: what the metal in your piece is actually worth at the Kitco New York spot bid shown above. No sign-up, no email, no catch.

Straight talk: every dealer buys under melt, including us. That margin is how the doors stay open and forty people get paid. What this gives you is the ceiling, so you can walk into any shop in the Valley knowing whether the offer in front of you is fair.

Stones, brand and craftsmanship aren't counted here. A signed piece or a Rolex is usually worth well more than its metal. Bring it in and we'll tell you which one you've got.

Under one roof

Five counters, one handshake.

Everything here is bought, sold, appraised, repaired and loaned against by the same people, many of whom have worked these floors for decades.

What actually happens

No appointment. No pressure. No judgment.

The part people worry about is walking in. Here is exactly how it goes, so there are no surprises.

1

Bring it in

One coin or a whole estate, at any of the three counters. Nothing to book, nothing to sign to start, and no obligation at any point.

2

We look at it properly

Loupe, scale and tester, with the scale facing you. Our people explain what they are seeing as they go. Customers tell us the education is the part they remember.

3

You get a straight number

Sell it, pawn it, or take it home. If it is worth more somewhere else, at auction or with a specialist, we will tell you that too.

The Foster family behind the counter at Fresno Coin Gallery, in front of the membership board.
From the archive The family behind the Blackstone counter
Two generations

The same family, the same window, since 1982.

Steve Foster Sr. opened the Blackstone counter in 1982. Steve Jr. now sits on the board of the California Association of Pawnbrokers. Between them, three locations and more than forty people, most of whom have been here for years rather than months.

That matters more than it sounds. The person who grades your coin is the person who has to look you in the eye next time you come in. Plenty of customers first walked in with a parent and now bring their own kids.

Where the money goes

A Fresno business that shows up for Fresno.

School partnerships, Academic Decathlon sponsorship, and the Golden Opportunity event for Valley school children. This is the part of the business their current website barely mentions, and it is the reason the county superintendent and the BBB both went on record for them.

"Fresno Coin Gallery has set the bar high for school-business partnerships. Thanks to their leadership and generosity, our students have unique opportunities to succeed in the arts, agriculture, athletics and academics."

— Larry L. Powell, Fresno County Superintendent of Schools
